According to the American magazine 'International Living', these Malaga municipalities are among the five best places "to live and retire abroad"
When a person retires after so many years of work, he finds that he has a large amount of time that he did not have before. Thanks to this, many retirees choose to enjoy doing outdoor activities, or even move to places or countries to live the following years.

The American magazine 'International Living', a magazine specializing in tourism with more than 40 years of experience, published at the beginning of the year an article entitled 'Five places to live in Spain; two to avoid', in which he mentions Mijas Pueblo and Benalmádena as two of the best places where British, Dutch, Scandinavian and North American retirees can rest in Spain.
This magazine, quoted in newspapers such as 'The New York', 'USA Today' or The Wall Street Journal', is specifically dedicated to researching and publishing news about "living and retiring abroad". In their post, they make it clear that the first place to have a quiet lifestyle is Benalmádena.

Although in their article they begin by saying that it can be a family environment due to notable aspects such as "a butterfly park, two aquariums, a cable car and one of the largest marinas in Andalusia", they have highlighted that retirees can rest in "small secluded beaches populated by sunbathers and fishermen" and enjoying "alfresco dining with multi-level views.

In the case of Mijas town, the magazine has highlighted its beauty, climate and sport: "The white Andalusian town attracts expatriates from all over the world because it serves as a gateway to the "golf valley" of the Costa del Sol. With beautiful weather all year round and numerous green areas, this location is a golfer's paradise."

Other places in which they have recommended living are Almuñecar for its coast and weather; Sitges (Barcelona) for its artistic and alternative lifestyle; and Miraflores de la Sierra (Madrid) for its trails and for "adapting perfectly to the outdoor lifestyle".
